Two options for applying
Counselors (Camp House, Shores & GLBC sites)
As a member of this Ministry Team, you will have an opportunity to serve as a youth counselor on-site, participate as a day camp counselor (off-site), and/or possibly serve in a family or high adventure camp setting. In addition to serving in a counseling role, you will be involved in our service ministries. These service ministries, such as dish washing, night-watch, and maintenance, are vital to the camp experience and will offer you a different view and ministry of camp.
Kitchen Team (Shores and GLBC sites)
You will be serving along side other service staff, preparing meals and serving our guests. Each day, both Green Lake and Shores combined, usually serves over 200 people. If you enjoy cooking and fun in the kitchen, this might be a place for you.
Canteen Manager (Shores and GLBC sites)
You will be the steward of our canteen ministry. Your responsibilities will involve selling items to our staff, campers, and guests… from candy to t-shirts. This also involves tallying daily inventory on items sold, as well as keeping track of new orders that may be needed throughout the summer. Good organizational skills and a general sense for retail work would be helpful in this ministry area.
Waterfront Director (Shores and GLBC sites)
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable waterfront area for all those who use our specific sites. You must be currently certified in CPR/First Aid, as well as a certified lifeguard by the time of employment. Responsibilities also include: creating a weekly lifeguard schedule, daily maintenance of the beach front, orientation for guests and campers using the waterfront.
Health Aide (Shores and GLBC sites)
You will be responsible for the health and well being of all campers and staff. These responsibilities involve keeping record of all health/medical forms and filing any necessary reports. All medications brought to camp will also need to be monitored and administered in the highest professional manner. Skills in leadership, emergency care, and health assessment will be needed for this job and specific qualifications will be discussed upon interview. The biggest part of this position is giving tender loving care to those campers in need.
Maintenance Crew (Shores and GLBC sites)
You will be involved in maintaining the beautiful grounds and facilities of our camps, as well as cleaning, fixing, restoring, and caring for anything that may come up.
Day Camp Leaders (Shores and GLBC sites)
Day Camp (DC) is an opportunity to go out and spread the Gospel in our area congregations. Among the team members there is a DC leader who will be chosen from among our counseling staff. Tell your interviewer if you would like this opportunity to test your leadership skills.
Assistant Program Directors (APDs): (Camp House, Shores & GLBC sites)
Assistant Program Directors serve by providing leadership to our camp staff, and specific site-based programs. There will be six Program Directors or APDs as they are affectionately called - (1 at Camp House, 2 at Shores and 3 at GLBC). PDs are responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the camp, which deal directly with the campers, guests, and camp staff. This involves: helping with leading staff training, planning daily and weekly schedules, making sure campfires are well planned out, communicating any decisions, changes, and specific needs to staff, supporting the camp staff, and in short, making sure all the bases are covered. The APD position requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as creativity, and an active sense of humor. We also highly recommend that this position be filled by people who have at least 3 years of post-high school education, some previous experience in camping ministry, and are First Aide/CPR certified.
