Serve Boldly assists groups from campus organizations to create a unique opportunity for young adults during the academic year. This program allows young adults to experience a new city, explore it, and spend time in the community to understand their calling in the world.

​Serve Boldly operates with a framework of accompaniment and intentionality. Participants not only learn from their neighbors, but they also serve alongside them in urban and small-town communities. Throughout the week, young adults will serve directly, indirectly, and through advocacy, and they will return to campus with a passionate energy for justice!

trip Cost

Trips during the 2025-2026 academic year will be $300 per participant which includes:
  • Housing (typically on the floor in a church)
  • Showers once a day (does not include arrival/departure days)
  • Serve Boldly T-Shirt
  • Weekly Service Plan - Serve Boldly schedules 7-8 organizations/ministries for each individual and provides the overall schedule, address, description, waivers, and other important information
  • Local emergency care information
  • Community Mission Plan with suggestions for food venues & evening/afternoon activities
  • National (multi-site) criminal background check and sex offender registry check on each participant​
Each group is responsible for/to:
  • Meal planning/expenses
  • Providing their own mattresses/cots & bedding
  • Bringing a first aid kit
  • Providing at least one adult who is currently certified in CPR and FIRST AID (must provide documentation to Serve Boldly)
  • All activity costs
  • Travel/vehicle costs to and from the community as well as transportation to and from the housing site, shower location, and service organizations

insurance

For your protection, Serve Boldly requires proof of liability insurance and vehicle insurance from every group that registers for a trip. During the trip you will not only be transporting your youth and leaders but also transporting Serve Boldly staff, as well as youth and leaders from other church groups to service locations and evening activities. 
 
If you have concerns that your insurance does not cover your group while on the trip, contact your insurance agency ASAP. The following organizations provide trip insurance and/or medical insurance to groups or individuals.

GROUP RESERVATIONS

What a group leader needs to make a group reservation:
  • A group minimum of 10 participants, including at least 2 adults 21 years or older
  • $150 non-refundable deposit per participant (Total Cost is $300 per participant)
  • Dates
  • Choice(s) of community location
  • Trip Leader Contact Information (Email, Cell, Work Phone)
  • Billing Information  (Organization, Mail Address, Phone)
  • Any other details you want us to know…
Serve Boldly staff will reach out to your organization to discuss your preferred dates and community location. Our partner housing sites may or may not be available for your dates based on a variety of factors. In addition, for alternative break trips, Serve Boldly books only one group per housing site at a time.    

A signed contract & non-refundable deposit of $150 per participant is due within 30 days. Your trip is officially reserved when BOTH the signed contract & deposit are received.  

Please note: Group reservations must be made a minimum of 90 days in advance of the actual trip.  If a group does not return a signed contract with a full deposit within 30 days, the next group on the list will be contacted. Full payment, proof of liability insurance, and completing online registration of individuals with Serve Boldly are due 60 days in advance of the actual trip.  Completion of any required waivers is due a minimum of 30 days before the trip.

Cancellations

Cancellations of participants received 30 days before the group trip will receive a refund minus the $150 non-refundable deposit.  All other cancellations are non-refundable.  Exceptions may be made due to family emergencies and illness.
