The Ministry Associate Co-op Program aims to mutually benefit participating congregations and Green Lake Lutheran Ministries. It seeks to form partnerships with local congregations needing ministry support, simultaneously helping a young person discern their call to ministry.
We seek to hire young adults exploring a call to ministry. This initiative provides congregational support and offers associates extensive training and programming at GLLM. With your support, associates receive $1,000 for continuing education, resources, support, and tasks to develop ministry skills and aid in the search for vocation. The Ministry Associate Co-op Program hopes to guide and equip those discerning a career in youth ministry, outdoor ministry, or non-profit organizations. |
Congregations looking to partner with GLLM in a Ministry Associate Co-op and have more questions can contact Lindsey Scheid at [email protected]. Individuals seeking employment as a Ministry Associate or Hospitality Associate can get more information on our Associates page. |
Congregational Responsibilities
For 10-15 hours/week (September-May), we pair you with a suitable candidate according to your specific needs. For instance, an MA might assist you 7 hours on Wednesday, 2 hours on Sunday, and dedicate 1 hour to activity planning. The program adapts to your needs. A staff member (Pastor or Youth Leader) should conduct weekly check-ins with the MA to discuss programming plans and expectations. As the relationship develops, the staff member should support and contribute to the MA's discernment journey.
Cost & Reimbursement
$19,800, split into 12 monthly payments of $1,650 (September-August). Of the $19,800 payment, $9,000 is available for your use throughout the program year to use towards ministry opportunities at camp. We will work together to help you utilize these funds in a way that meets your needs and helps you imagine new areas of partnership.

We are committed to recruiting and hiring great people but cannot guarantee the placement of a Ministry Associate at your church until sufficient hires are in place. Our primary aim is to ensure optimal compatibility between the candidate and the congregation. For inquiries or further details, feel free to contact 320-796-2181 or via email at [email protected]. You're also welcome to complete our interest form and let's start a discussion! We're grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with you and support a young adult as they discern their call to ministry—thank you!
