summer camp is back!
In the months ahead, our program team will be gearing up for the many ways that campers and guests will experience the life-changing love of Jesus through summer camp and retreats in 2021. You might be wondering -- what will this look like? Will there be any changes? The answer is -- yes! There certainly will be changes. But, we are comfortable saying that we will be open for summer camp. We have great guidance from the American Camp Association, exciting new ideas to try, and diligent staff who will make sure we will be ready to operate in a fun and safe way!
Here are some examples of things to expect:
- The camp schedule will be adapted to accommodate “pods.” Pods are essentially cabin groups that function as a family unit. Anything done in close proximity to others will be done in these pods, which will help to minimize the potential spread of viruses.
- There will still be large group activities, but they will be implemented in safe, distanced ways. We will create a fun camp community in new ways!
- Our staffing model will change so that within the pod structure, all campers will still have opportunities for swimming, crafts, games, campfires...CAMP!
- Enhanced cleaning procedures will be implemented.
- As often as possible, we will be outdoors -- something we already do!
We hope you are as excited as we are to get back to summer camp. Keep an eye on this website, as information and plans will change as we receive more guidance from the ACA and CDC about the pandemic. If you have any questions, please contact us at 320-796-2181 or camp@gllm.org!
