What is Thrivent Choice?
Thrivent Choice is a charitable grant program of Thrivent Financial. Giving back has always been important to Thrivent and its members. Thrivent has provided more than $174 million to help congregations, educational institutions and other nonprofit organizations through the Thrivent Choice® charitable grant program since its 2010 introduction. The Thrivent Choice program gives eligible benefit members an opportunity to recommend where Thrivent distributes some of its charitable outreach funds each year.

thrivent action teams
What are Thrivent Action Teams?
Thrivent Action Teams encourage people to support an event or cause by living generously in their community. Maybe you want to raise money to help send kids to camp this summer. You could but together an Action Team by using the $250 to advertise and buy supplies for a bake sale. Volunteers would provide the treats and work at the event. The community would purchase the goodies with proceeds going towards camper fees. Another option might be to use the Action Team funds to purchase First Aid supplies for the summer. Volunteers would shop for the supplies and assemble the First Aid kits.
What have Action Teams accomplished at camp in the past?
Action Teams have been used for Dinner Theater, building bunk beds, installing new toilets, and our camp garden. Quilt groups could even apply for an Action Team to help in making and machine quilting their donation for the Quilt Auction!
How do I set up an Action Team?
Check with the GLLM staff about the needs of the ministry, bring your ideas, or select one of ours. Once the project is approved by GLLM, apply at thrivent.com. Once your application has been approved, Thrivent will send you a box of promotional supplies, volunteer t-shirts, and a $250 credit card to purchase supplies for the project. Gather your volunteers and complete the project. Finally, report back to Thrivent on the success of your project. Thrivent members can apply to lead two Action Teams per year, while associate members can apply once per year.
